NYSC SWEARS IN 2300 AMIDST CORONAVIRUS SCARE

Despite calls for the suspension of the orientation course by many individuals, the National Youth Service Corps, State of Osun has sworn in 2300 corps members for the 2020 batch 'A' orientation course.


The State Coordinator, Mr. Ayodele Adegoke made this known during the swearing in ceremony of the 2020 batch 'A' corps members Thursday at the NYSC permanent orientation ground, Ede, State of Osun.

Mr. Adegoke disclosed that the corps members included a number of 1100 males and 1200 females as of  Wednesday.


However, thorough screening and sanitization were being carried out on visitors at the entrance of the camp ground by the medical unit of the scheme.

Speaking at the event, the State Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Oluwole Oyebamiji, urged the corps members to imbibe the spirit of hardwork and obedience to constituted authority.


Governor Oyetola assured the Corps Members of the government's resolve to ensure an enabling environment for the exhibition of their skills and encouraged them to see the state as a home away from home.

Equally, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Yemi Lawal while welcoming the corps members, enjoined them  to reciprocate the scheme's and government's gestures by joining hands with the government in expanding the frontiers of community and State development through active participation in the fight against crime and drug abuse.
