NYSC: Education CDS ORGANISES INTER SCHOOL DEBATE, Urges Students to avoid discrimination.
The Education Community Development Service (CDS) group of the National Youth Service Corps, Osun State, has organized and inter school debate competition for students in Osogbo and Olorunda Local Government Areas.
In her opening address at the event which was held at the Olorunda Local Government Secretariat, the president of the group, Yomife Agegoke revealed that the essence of the competition was aimed at fostering unity between schools. She noted that the discrimination against and among schools must seriously be frowned at irrespective of the school's standard in order to foster development in the educational sector and nation at large.
The debate which was contested by 9 secondary schools selected from Olorunda and Osogbo (public and private) gave the students a platform to partake in a brainstorm exercise as they aired out their views concerning vital issues in the the nation's education system.
Meanwhile, the Christ Redeemers Model emerged the winner of the competition with 98 points which made them stand tall among other contestants.
While speaking with our correspondence, Agegoke expressed her satisfaction with the project alongside her group’s contributions towards the success of the program aimed at promoting unity and collaboration between the public and private schools."We believe in a system where everything is being done without discrimination" she added.
