'NATIONAL SERVICE, A CALL TO SACRIFICE, DEDICATION, PERSEVERANCE, AND HUMILITY'- Governor Oyetola
The Executive Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has enjoined the 2020 Batch A stream 1 Corps Members to see the National Service as a call to sacrifice, dedication, perseverance, humility and an avenue to make a laudable impact in the state.
Gboyega Oyetola stated this at the swearing in and official opening ceremony of the three-week orientation exercise which held on Thursday at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Ede.
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State of Osun, Prince Wole Oyebamiji urged the 2300 corps members comprising of 1100 males and 1200 females to join in the growth and development of the nation's economy.
Governor Oyetola further advised the corps members to imbibe the spirit of hardwork, honesty, and respect for the constituted authorities. In his note, he stated "let the wordings of the oath you have just sworn to be your reference point as you commence your National service".
In his final note, he assured the corps members that government will continue to create the enabling environment for corps members to maximize their potentials for self realization and self employment.
Meanwhile, Osun state NYSC coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke in his address urged the corps members to channel their mindset towards the growth and development of Nigeria by maintaining hard work, integrity , and abiding to the rules and regulations of the NYSC by engaging themselves in relevant NYSC orientation activities which includes; skill acquisition, Leadership training, Sports , fire training, military drill etc. Which are positive and effective in the growth and development of the corps members and Nigeria at large.
In the mean time, the Chairman NYSC State Governing Board, Hon Lawal Azeez urged the corps members to be discipline and patriotic in order to integrate well in the growth and development of the Nation. He stated in his note "discipline should be your watchword at all time".
Hon Lawal Azeez further encouraged the corps members to avoid despising the way of life and culture of the people of the State of Osun in order to maintain their integrity as patriotic citizens of Nigeria.
Subsequently, the corps members were sworn in by taking the oath of allegiance which was administered by the representative of the Chief Judge of the State of Osun Hon justice Adedotun Grace Onibodun.
