Corps Members Welfare: NYSC Osun State Partners Federal Fire Service, Provides Infrared Thermometer and Sanitisers to Ensure Virus-free Environment.
The NYSC Osun State has partnered with the Federal Fire Service towards ensuring a hitch free orientation camp in the state. The partnership which began during the 2020 Batch ‘A’ orientation was birthed as part of the state coordinator's welfarist strategy in ensuring the safety of the 2300 members deployed to the state for the service year.
The State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke, who welcomed the fire service team led by FRS1 Ajibade on Wednesday, appreciated the body for sending its team to the camp as requested by the secretariat. Having them around, according to him, is a welcome development.
He said, " we appreciate your coming and look forward to greater synergy between the scheme and your organization. Yours is a body saddled with the responsibility of training fire fighters and equally mitigating fire and other emergencies...
" your staying with us throughout the duration of the orientation course to sensitise corps members and also to prevent or mitigate any fire related emergencies especially during this dry season is indeed note worthy".
The fire Service Team Leader, FRS1 Ajibade, commended the bold step taken by the state coordinator to ensure all round safety of the corps members. He further reiterated the service's continued support for the scheme and its readiness to always partner with the scheme in subsequent orientations.
Meanwhile, steps have been taken by the management of the scheme to prevent any outbreak of diseases in the camp. Infrared thermometers were made available for the testing of prospective corps members and camp officials right from the entrance of the camp. Equally, hand sanitisers, wash hand basins, water and antiseptic liquid soaps have been made available at strategic points in the camp as measures to ensure a virus-free environment for a hitchfree orientation course for corps members deployed to the state.
