NYSC STATE COORDINATOR ADVOCATES LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE IN OSUN STATE
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke has advocated for a committee at the grassroots level that will improve corps members’ security and amenities.
He made this request during a courtesy visit alongside NYSC officials to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs in Osogbo, Osun State, on Thursday.
The State Coordinator while addressing the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, proposed the provision of accommodation for corps members in different local government in the state and solicited financial support towards the building of infrastructure at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, Osun State.
Responding to the State Coordinator’s appeals, the Honourable Commissioner, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, promised to address all requests stated, especially the issue of accommodation and assured the State Coordinator, Mr Adegoke that the ministry will improve working with the NYSC scheme “as they both are inseparable and therefore need one another.”
The Commissioner also implored the state coordinator to post relevant corps members to the ministry to ensure effective productivity.
He admonished the corps members to make use of their service year accurately and not see it as a waste of time, stating that every corps member has a role to play in the development of state.
