FOIA HEARTENS ITS CONDUCT ON THE NURTW
The FOIA CDS group is at it again as they have recently, cheered their conduct to members of the National Road Transport Workers and Local Government residents of Ilesa West Local Government Area, Osun State.
The CDS group successfully stirred the gathering on the Freedom of Information Act citing it's mainspring which occurred during former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's administration and its absolute effect on both the government and citizens of the country at large.
The president of the CDS group, Mr Fatai Qudus who was also the spokesman stated that the Freedom of Information Act has filled the bill for both the government and citizens of the country as it gives the public the right to access government or MDA's records and information.
On this note he said " the act has not only outstandingly established transparency between the affairs of the government and the citizens but has also placed the government well in the minds of the citizens.
He went ahead to cite penalties attached to violating the Act and further enlightened them on some of the exemptions covered by the Act.
Meanwhile, the audience which included the representatives of both the NURTW and the Local Government Chairperson, were appreciative of the mind opening session and implored the corps members to extend the sensitization on FOIA to Higher institutions.
