Be safety conscious, even as we come to the end of the year, FRSC Boss charges corps members.
The Federal Road Safety Corps officials has charged corps members to be safety conscious even as we approach the end of the year. This was said during the general Community Development Service (CDS) meeting of Osogbo LGA held at the Osogbo Local government area Secretariat, Oke Baale. The meeting had in attendance seven (7) CDS groups, namely; FRSC, PETs, SDGs, INEC, EPSG, NEMA and Editorial.
The Sector Commander who was represented by DCC A.A Awodi in his opening remark sensitized the corps members about safety on the highways, and he highlighted the three major roles of FRSC; Enforcement, Education & Enlightenment and Rescue operation.
Speaking further was DRC M.M Akinsunlola (the Assistant Public Education Officer), who also exposed what to look out for in the safety of vehicles and lives. He encouraged the corps members to be good citizens by ensuring vehicles they will board are in good shape by emphasizing on the engine and tyres being in order.
He also pointed at the psychological orderliness of the drivers by ensuring that they're not drunk before driving and ensuring other necessities about them.
He discouraged Late night travelling by Corps members, pointing out the fact that most accidents are as a result of reckless driving at nights which as well leads to kidnapping and other vices.
Representing the State Coordinator of Osun NYSC, Mr Olatunji, the LGI of Osogbo Local Government, who in his remarks, appreciated the officials from FRSC and also praised the DG of NYSC and Corps Marshall for such a progressive and safety oriented initiative.
He also encouraged the Corps members to continue to be of good character and ambassadors to the general public. He further debunked the fake letter in circulation about travel permit by the DG.
Also present at the meeting was the Assistant LGI of Osogbo Local Government, Mrs Olanipekun Oluwayemisi, and the CLO Osogbo Local government, Miss Olanitee Titilayomi. Officials of the FRSC DRC O.S Oyekunle (ITC Officer), DRC O.A Fagite (Staff Officer, Special Marshall). Also, presidents of all CDS groups, other executives and members were all recognized.
