THE NIGERIAN ARMY DONATES DRUGS TO NYSC OSUN STATE
Corps members face challenges during their stay on camp, one of which is the tendency to fall sick due to the vissisitudes occasioned by the regimented camp life. As a result, some are faced with the possibility of being sent home for better healthcare and therefore missing out on camp fun. To curb this and many other health challenges, the Commander of the Engineer Construction Command, Nigeria Army Ede, Brig. Gen. A.O Agboola donated some drugs for use at the ongoing 2019 Batch C stream I orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, Osun State.
The donation was made by the Camp Commandant, Lt. S. B Gora, who represented the Commander on Wednesday 6th November, 2019. The Commander shed some light on the importance of a ready supply of drugs for corps members serving in the State. According to him, " I had gone through a more rigorous training in the army and know the health challenges faced by corps members and also the danger of non-availability or having an inadequate supply of medical supplies".
" we did what we did as a sign of our support for the scheme in the State and to also augment the efforts of the management of the scheme who have been trying so hard to ensure all corps members are well taken care of even with the paucity of funds" he added.
The kind gesture was well received by the State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke, who thanked the Nigerian Army for their unalloyed support for the scheme. He further called out to other collaborating agencies and stakeholders to borrow a leave from what the Nigeria Army had done. This, according to him, is an indication that the scheme is not alone in her quest of training Nigerian graduate youths and uniting the nation.
