“Environmental Protection is a Public Project and Responsibility”- NESREA Boss
The State Coordinator, National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), State of Osun division, Mr. Mohammed Maike who was ably represented by Mr. Chukwudi Nwabuisiaku has recounted that Environmental Protection is a general responsibility that everyone must be engaged in the execution of the project.
This he explained at the recent welcome ceremony organized for the Batch “B” Stream II corps members of the Environmental Protection and Sanitation Group (EPSG) CDS team of Osogbo Local Government, Osogbo Osun State.
The event which was themed “Environmental Manumit; Neoteric Manumitters” was where Mr. Maike further orientated the new set of corps members about primary objective of the group. He said “Sensitization and creation of awareness have always been carried out from its inception but the agency collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme is to strengthen the exercises for optimum success”.
Prior to the this, the corps members were educated over with video clips that narrated the concept of waste management, recycling and upcycling of waste substances from our immediate environment. They also participated in brainstorming sections that provide solutions to every identified environmental problem.
Finally, the NESREA-NYSC Desk Officers present, the persons of Mr. Samson Awoyode and Mrs Adeleke admonished the corps members to be good ambassadors of the CDS group and most importantly, the scheme. They hinted that a heathier and cleaner environment can be achieved through active participation and sensitization.

- In the meantime, the president of the CDS group, Mr. Falade Ademola revealed the purpose behind the theme presented for the occasion. He further enlightened that the environment has been in bondage through anthropogenic activities, thereby causing harmful effects leading to the degradation of ecosystems.
