Environmental Health Is Determined By The Youth- NESREA Boss
Corps members from the Community Development Service (CDS) group of the Environmental Protection and Sanitation Group (EPSG), Osogbo Local Government were sensitized by their parent body, the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA) on the effects of plastic pollution and it’s possible solutions.
The sensitization which took place at the NESREA office, Pepsi Cola, Osogbo, had in attendance the state coordinator of NESREA, Mr. Muhammad Ahmad Maine, the NYSC desk officer, Mr. Awoyade Samson as well as other officials.
Corps members of the ESPG group were commended by Mr Maine and reminded of their responsibilities to the society. According to him, they are expected to sensitize the general public, collaborate with agencies and carry out projects that will protect the environment.
In the meantime, Mr. Nkata Isijan made corps members undersood that wealth can be created from waste. He encouraged the corps members that they can become registered waste collectors, and sell non decomposable wastes collected.
They were widely enlightened on classes of plastics, the solution to the menace of plastics pollution and waste management by Mr. Baba Quadri.
