NYSC MOVES TO STRENGTHEN TIES WITH COLLABORATING AGENCIES
The National Youth Service Corps has made moves to
strengthen its ties with collaborating agencies and stakeholders in the
State. The move, which was made by the
newly created Southwest Area Office in collaboration with the State
Secretariat, was geared towards intimating and involving the agencies and
stakeholders in the successful running of the Area Office situated in the
State.
Pursuant to this, the
Southwest Area Coordinator, Mr Emmanuel
Attah with the NYSC Osun State Coordinator,
Mr Ayodele Adegoke paid a courtesy visit on HRM,
Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, the
Timi of Edeland; and the Commander
Engineer Construction Command Nigeria Army,
Ede, Brig. Gen. A. O Agboola.
The Timi of Edeland, while hosting the Area and State
Coordinators, thanked the management of the scheme for siting the Southwest
Area Office in the State considering the stiff competition that must have
ensued in the process. According to him " NYSC management has made the
right decision by bringing the Area Office to Osun State considering the fact
that the State is almost central and relatively peaceful. "
" this will open up the State to more development and I
am sure it will bring about an improved standard of living for people in the
State. I, therefore reiterate my commitment and that of my people to assisting
the Area Office and also the NYSC Osun State achieve its objectives and
purpose" he added.
Playing host to the duo in his office, the Commander, ECC Nigeria Army Ede, Brig. Gen. A. O Agboola expressed
appreciation for the visit as according to him,
their coming was a true reflection of the synergy that exist between the
scheme and the Nigeria Army. "it gladens my heart to play host to two
great men; the former Coordinator of NYSC Osun State now appointed Area
Coordinator of Southwest and the new State Coordinator. The State is blessed
indeed to have great and seasoned administrators handling the scheme's affairs
both at the state and area level.
" the Nigeria Army is a part of the NYSC family and
fully committed to ensuring the scheme progresses at all levels. I assure you
of our continued support. I and my team
are ready to support the area office in any capacity like we have been
doing for the scheme in the State" he said.
Meanwhile, the Area Coordinator, Mr Emmanuel Attah has appreciated HRM, Oba Muniru Adesola Lawal and the Commander
ECC Nigeria Army Ede, Brig. Gen. A. O Agboola during the visit for the support
given to the scheme during his sojourn in the State as the state
coordinator and for extending greater
support to his successor, Mr Ayodele
Adegoke.
He accordingly intimated them on the creation of the Area
Office, why it was sited in Osun State
and the objectives behind the creation. He thereafter craved the full support
and a greater collaboration towards achieving the mandate and objectives
of the scheme in the State and the
Southwest Area.
Mr Ayodele Adegoke, the State Coordinator, who accompanied
the Area Coordinator during the visits also called for a greater collaboration
of all agencies of the state with the Area Office, " It is a blessing for
us to have the NYSC Southwest Area Office sited in Osun State. I urge you to
join hands with us to assist the Area Office achieve its ideals and objectives,
in order to justify the management's choice of Osun as the central location for
the Southwest " he said.
The duo also visited the site of the project embarked upon
by a corps member serving with the Engineer Construction Command, Nigeria Army Ede.
