CORPS MEMBERS SHOULD EMBRACE GOSPEL OF SAFETY- Oluwayemi
The unit head, Ife Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. A. A. Oluwayemi had brought a gospel of safety to the Ife North Corps Members during the Community Development Service gathering.
Oluwayemi admonished the corps members to embrace safety in their daily life activities, specifically while driving. He further advised them to always fasten their seatbelts and avoid drinking alcohol before and/or during driving.
Meanwhile, Oluwayemi also warned the corps members to avert being charged to court as a result of drivers’ license, perhaps fake or expired. He disclosed that lack of valid drivers’ license is a punishable offence under the law.
He emphasized that; “a driver who does not have a valid drivers’ license is considered as someone who intends to kill deliberately”.
While answering questions about the enforcement of seatbelt fastening amidst the commercial drivers, Oluwayemi highlighted that this is a pressing problem FRSC is clamoring to solve in the mass transit ecosystem.
