SDG CDS Sensitize People On Health Matters
THE Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) CDS group of Irewole Local Government Area, Osun state has sensitized the people of Ikire community on the health effect of unsafe water as well as the Economic and social benefits of safe water.
The CDS president, Mr. Yinusa Having, in his address, made it known that one of the group's mandate was Clean Water and Sanitation and as such, it is their duty to ensure that the people of that community are enlightened on the need to consume clean water.
He stated that the SDGs sixth goal according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is aimed at ensuring that every human on Earth has access to safe water by 2030 for lack of quality water is a global crisis.
He further cited the effect of unsafe water and proferred solutions which include: The use of household water treatments, practicing good hygiene and sensitizations for the unlearned on water-borne diseases.
Yinusa then encouraged the people of Ikire community to ensure that the water and environment are healthful as it would reduce the cost of purchasing water by average community members and medical expenses.
