NSCDC COMMANDANT APPLAUDS NYSC FOR INTEGRATING THE NATION FROM INCEPTION.
The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Osun State Command, Oguntuase Adeyinka Kingsley along with his management team paid a courtesy visit to the State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, on Thursday 29th of August 2019.
Oguntuase appreciated the warm reception and positive reports he received on resuming office at the Osun State Command on the 8th of August, 2019.
He stated that as part of his courtesy visit to federal agencies, the NYSC was top on his list as an agency saddled with the responsibility of integrating the nation. He praised the NYSC for her true representation and integration of the nation's populace since the inception of the scheme. He reiterated that he looks forward to enjoying the good working relationship his predecessor enjoyed with the scheme in the State.
Furthermore, he stressed on the mandate of the NSCDC to secure national infrastructure and farmlands and the need for other security agencies and most especially the community to partner with them to achieve this mandate. He also stated that the NSCDC partners with non-governmental security outfits to train and register them.
He further intimated the State Coordinator on the Agency's Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program which seeks to resolve dispute cases out of court in other to salvage relationships. He gladly disclosed that over 2000 cases have been successfully handled through the
ADR.
In conclusion, he presented a copy of the NSCDC Act 2003 and 2007 to better explain the strength, power, mandate and partners of the NSCDC. He lastly requested that formal reports be written to the NSCDC on the performance of Civil Defense personnel deployed for the three-week orientation course.
Correspondingly, the State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke, thanked the Commandant for the visit stating that the NSCDC and the work they do is held in high esteem and deeply appreciated by the NYSC. He praised the synergy between the two agencies and also promised a stronger bond. He commended the Civil Defense personnel on camp for a job weldone and obliged to the Commandant's request for feedback on their performance.
Mr Adegoke went on to request the NSCDC Commandant to keep prioritizing the security of corps members across the State.
Lastly he presented the commandant with the NYSC Batch 'B' stream two service guide and the NYSC compendium.
