STEPHEN OJEWANDE ENJIONED CORPS MEMBERS NOT TO SELL THEIR CONSCIENCE
The HOD Voters Education, INEC, Venerable Stephen Ojewande has urged the 2019 Batch B stream 1 corps members to be good ambassadors of NYSC and INEC.
He said the collaboration of INEC with NYSC is an extension to the National Youth Service, with an objective of inculcating values of nationalism, patriotism, loyalty and accountability in corps members in order to have a credible democratic structure in Nigeria.
He enumerated the duties of corps members to INEC during his sensitization lecture at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede. According to him these duties include; voters registration, voters education and enlightenment campaign at the grassroots, orientation on patriotism at their places of primary assignment and conduct of elections.
He finally noted that INEC considers the security and welfare of corps members as sacrosanct and therefore implored them to change the narrative of the dubious electoral processes in Nigeria by exhibiting transparency, professionalism, integrity and impartiality as core values expected from corps members by INEC.
