NYSC IS THE ONLY INSTITUTION THAT CAN SAVE THE COUNTRY" - VC, Adeleke University
Prof. Ekundayo Alao, the Vice Chancellor of Adeleke University Ede, played host to the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Adewale Adegoke in his office on Monday 29th July, 2019. While reacting to the courtesy visit of the State Coordinator, Alao stated that the NYSC is the only institution that can save Nigeria as it is the only scheme that brings together today's youths from different ethnicity and religious beliefs.
Alao spoke highly of the Scheme by saying " if there's any institution that promotes the country's image, stabilizes the country and is detribalised, it is the NYSC".
"It is the NYSC that is saving the country. It is appealing to see youths from different homes and background being confined to a regimented life during orientation programmes and still feel at home". "How sweet would it be if all Nigerians could embrace what the NYSC is doing as it promotes unity, peace and tranquility" He added.
He further expressed his desire to see youths in charge of government as they would bring fresh ideas to spear head progress in the country.
Earlier, the State Coordinator, Mr Adegoke appreciated the Vice Chancellor for commissioning the NYSC SAED centre at the orientation camp and for the institutions assistance in cash and kind during orientation programmes in the State. This, Adegoke said, has made Adeleke University and the NYSC best partners in the State.
He further lauded the institution for the quality of graduates produced as they make the job easier for officials of the scheme during registration and verification of prospective corps members during orientation programmes. The Vice Chancellor further promised support to the scheme by saying" any requests made by the NYSC would be given utmost priority as you are taking care of our future".
