KAZAURE CHARGES CORPS MEMBERS TO RESPECT THE CUSTOMS OF THEIR HOST COMMUNITIES.

The Director General of NYSC, Major Gen. S.Z Kazaure has commended the 2019 Batch A corps members deployed to Osun State.
Kazaure who was represented by the Director Internal Audit, Mr Leke Abiodun, made this commendation during his visit to the orientation course for the corps members on Monday, 8th April at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.

While addressing the 2019 Batch A corps members,  he commended them for maintaining a positive attitude and for maintaining a very clean environment. This was as the result of the inspection of the camp facilities carried out by the DG during his visit.

He further urged the corps members to respect the customs of their host communities, while also stressing the  need for them to take the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development of the NYSC as serious as they took their study.
The DG also admonished the members to always do what is right during their service year.  In his words, he stated that corps members should “ please shun unauthorized journeys, instead they should obtain the approval of the State Coordinator through  Zonal Inspector, their LGI and corps employer and  they will definitely be permitted to travel if the reasons are genuine".

Besides that, He sincerely prayed for the safety of the corps members during their service year and reminded that they are the elite youth  and the prayer point of every parents  which entails that more is expected from them.

Meanwhile, the state coordinator, Mr Emmanuel Attah while welcoming the director general in his brief gave the statistics of the concluded camp registration which captured 2329 Corps members. He commended the 2019 Batch A corps members for their discipline, cooperation and peaceful coexistence on camp.

He further highlighted the biggest challenge faced on camp when he clearly recognised that “ the camp doesn’t have any challenge except that of the health of corps members".

To the same degree, he stressed that “even though after the health certificate had been submitted by the corps members during the biometric capturing, additional checkup was also conducted by consultants from the Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital on the prospective corps members to bring to a minimal the number of casualty during the regimental 3-week orientation course".

Finally, he acknowledged that the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ede, Osun State is ranked as one of the best in the nation and the "face of NYSC". This remark he made due to the state of the art facilities on ground: the standard of the camp clinic, the quality of the bakery and the cleanliness of the hostels and the entire camp environment, among others
On this premise, the  state coordinater gave kudos to the camp commandant, Capt. H.U Abdulahi for ensuring and working for the safety of everybody on camp. Mr. Attah also recognised the unrelenting work done by the camp commandant and his soldiers in enforcing discipline and orderliness on camp.

Consequently, the DG visited the various skills acquisition classes on camp such as the leather work stand, the fishery class, food processing class, tailoring , public speaking,  bee keeping amongst others and couldn’t hid his satisfaction as he said “ these are our future” referring to the trainees who are corps members.

He advised the trainers to encourage and motivate corps members to take the skills serious before he proceeded to attend a closed door meeting with the NYSC Ede, oficials at  the Leke Abiodun pavilion located on the camp’s parade ground.
