The Community Development Service,is one of the four cardinal point of the National Youth Service Corps "NYSC" designed for corps members to take part, hence, improve and contribute to nation's building.

In view of the above, the Drug Free Quality Control CDS group in Olorunda local government area, execised it's liberty to sensitize, educate and create awareness on drug abuse and the danger it foment in the society during a visit to Community Government High School in Otaefun.

The president of DFQC, Miss.Ogundijo Kabirat,in her remark, appreciated the principal and staff of the school for availing the students for the sensitization, saying, it will be of great help to them as it will unravel the dangers attached with the use of unwarranted drug by members of the
society.

The duo of Miss.Tolorunleke Alice and Miss.Oke ABIGAIL, who are members of the Cds group during their lectures, advised the students on the need to abstain from illicit drug and be ambassadors of change among their peers.

According to Miss.Alice, while highlighting the havoc in drug noted that it causes "physiological and psychological" damages in human health.

"Drug is not the food we eat that add nutritional values to our body, but a chemical substance that changes how the human system operates"

Also, "When drugs are used inappropriately without the prescription of medical practitioners, it is known as drug abuse.

"This could cause physiological and psychological damage on the user"

Miss.Alice, however categorised drug in two parts.

She stated "Drug is categorised into Legal and Illegal.

"A legal drug is such a drug that you get in a licensed pharmaceutical store or hospital, such as, Paracetamol, chloroquine among others.

While "illegal drugs are such that are banned from human consumption, which are, Tramadol, meridiana, custimol and others"she concluded.

Similarly,Miss.Oke Abigail, educated the students why some people are seen as drug addicts in the society.

"Drug addiction simply means being addicted to a particular drug which you can not do without".

She identified that drug abuse or addiction could be hazardous to the system which may lead to mental problem and harmful to the immune system.

Miss.Abigail, however advised them to abstain from drugs that are dangerous to the body and discourage such act wherever they find themselves, as in them are people with great potentials and  Leaders of tomorrow.
