Ahead of gubernatorial election in the state of Osun, corps members have been charged to be neutral and patriotic in the cause of delivering their duties on election day.
The Inspection Director of National Youth service scheme, Mrs Victoria Ango, gave the charge yesterday, while addressing corps members at Osogbo local government area.
Mrs Ango noted that corps members as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should beware of politicians who may want to manipulate the electoral processes through monetary gestures.
She further assured the corps members present that their welfare would be guaranteed, stating that it was the reason they were made to undergo training prior to the election, in order to avert the form of electoral misconduct that took place in Bauchi state.
The director further advised corps members to ensure their phones are well charged during the poll, for easy communication with INEC officials and security agents.
Speaking in the same vein, a representative from INEC headquarter, Abuja, Mr Abba Gubio, stressed that allowances of corps members would be duly paid, adding that only those who participated in the training would be allowed to take part in the electoral processes.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Oja Oba, Police Command, S.P Muraina Ayilara, in his address assured corps members of the presence of police personnel and other sister agencies at various polling units.
