RESPECT YOUR CHOICE, PARTICIPATE PEACEFULLY IN ELECTORAL PROCESSES, SAYS TUFACE IDIBIA

In a bid to ensure a violence free election in the state of Osun,  ace Singer and rapper,  Tuface Idibia has called on the general public to take active and peaceful participation in forthcoming gubernatorial poll in the state.

Tuface made this call  during a  peace concert tagged 'vote not fight ' organised ahead of forthcoming election by Kimpact Development Initiatives,  in partnership with United States Agency for International Development (UKSAID), National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the British Department for International Development (DFID).

The Singer who doubled as the vote not fight campaign ambassador ,while thrilling the youths, urged them to avoid being used as violence tools during and after the election.

Tuface added "respect and vote for your choice of candidate, do not sell your votes for a penny, remember your active participation determines your future leader. "

Addressing the audience, the Executive Director of Kimpact Development Initiative, Mr Bukola Idowu, stated that the campaign was put in place to promote development in the state.

Commending the efforts of state's Independent National Electoral Commission towards the success of the election , Mr Idowu noted that the commission and political parties in the state also gave in their endorsement for the campaign .

The Executive Director further appreciated corps members for taking active participation in a walk towards promotion of the campaign ,earlier today.

Also speaking, the State Director of  Department of State's Services (DSS), Mr Brown Ekwaba, stressed that youths have roles to play in the election urging them to disregard any form of electoral malpractice .

The state commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr Ebenezer Aboluwoye, noted that safety of Corps members would be ensured during and after the election, just as he admonished them to inform the security agents of security challenges that may arise .

He further said "the politicians are important, so are you, avoid being used as sacrificial Lamb, the politicians are aspiring to be leaders through their votes, you are a future leader too. "

The campaign began with a March from Nelson Mandela Park to ring road Osogbo and was graced by INEC officials, Chief Executive Officer, Rave fm, Mr Femi Adefila, corps Members and others.

It featured musical performances by Tuface and upcoming artists, dance competition and comedy.
