CORPS MEMBERS ENLIGHTEN MARKET WOMEN ON CLEANLINESS.

Corps Members of the Environmental Protection and Sanitation Group, Osogbo Local Government Area, Osun State, have sensitized market women on the importance of cleanliness and proper maintenance of their immediate environment.

In his remarks, the President of the group, Mr Yusuf Abdukarim, said "As Environment Protection and Sanitation Group, we reach out to organizations, including schools, hospitals, markets and enlighten them on the relevance of a clean environment to the society at large".
According to him "So far, schools and market places have been visited and there is plan in the pipeline to visit health facilities."

While addressing the market women present at the program, a member of the group, Miss Nkechi Alugburu, emphasized on the importance of keeping the environment clean, saying cleanliness is vital, if a healthy life is to be attained and sustained.

Miss Alugburu further admonished the market women saying "keeping the market clean is a marketing strategy that attracts persons to patronize the market because they are assured of a healthy and infection-free environment"

Speaking with Osun NYSC editorial board correspondent, the Iyaloja of Alekuwodo Market in Osogbo, expressed her delight on the initiative by the Corps Members to sensitize the market women, saying ’’whatever the Corps members have come to tell us is entirely for our good, We are really grateful and also encourage everyone to embrace a good sense of hygiene at our homes and places of work."
Highlights of the program was presentation of some sanitation materials to the market women, and demonstration of what was discussed by taking part in the cleaning of market environment.
