Terrorism is a major concern in Nigeria daily. The massacres, kidnappings and rape has aggravated overtime thereby inciting fear in the heart of Nigerians, proffer the best approach to manage this disgustful situation.

Terrorism has become a major problem Nigerians are facing on a daily basis, which only can be manage, cure and eradicate by the government and the people themselves.

Terrorism is just a general name having a lot of branches, like kidnapping, massacres, ritualism, rape, murdering etc.

Whoever wants to find solution to it, must be able to sacrifice and eradicate all those mentioned above.

The major cause of terrorism in any country is huge poverty and famishment.

Any country with a record of 90 percent of people suffering, while the 10 percent sing a song of nothing concern me (kokan mi), there is no good result in such exam than failures.

Thinking faculty adapts with present situation. If you have in wealthy living, your thinking would different, you only think how you enjoy the wealth in peaceful mind, how to travel all round the world, how you will build new houses and buying of new cars.

Whoever that is hungry and battling with poverty can never think straight than how he would make it by force, so many think negatively, they go in extreme just to alight from the vehicle of poverty and famishment.

You see them thinking of kidnapping, ritualism, murdering, rapping, stealing just to make sure they also become wealthy people they want, just to walk with the people of high positions. Example is the owner of Hilton Hotel, which investigation showed that he had hands with the killing of Timothy, all because of money, fame and others.

As many as 9,076 lives were lost to the violent incidents that unsettled Nigeria last year, and 4,680 people were victims of abduction.e

These figures are based on an analysis of data collected by the Nigeria Security Tracker (NST), which has monitored insecurity in the country since 2011 through local press reports.

While they show a dip in the number of victims of violence when compared to similar data compiled for 2021, zooming further out shows that insecurity is still generally on the rise in the West African country.

The fatalities are the third-highest recorded within the last five years, while the number of abduction victims is much higher than those documented before 2021.

of over 60 passengers; the massacre of congregants at the St Francis Catholic Church in Ondo in June; and the raid of the medium-security custodial facility in Kuje, Abuja, in July that led to hundreds of inmates breaking out.

Communities across the North had to bury scores or even hundreds of residents on the same day following waves of attacks by terror gangs. Dozens of vigilantes were shot dead by terrorists in different incidents in Kebbi and Taraba in the first quarter of the year.

Clashes between farming and pastoral communities continued. There was also deadly fighting between rival terror groups in the Northeast, Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), as well as rival groups in the Northwest.

In the Southeast, the activities of separatist militias led to multiple civilian deaths, especially as they enforced an illegal curfew.

Overall, at least 3,941 civilian deaths were recorded. Various security agencies lost 477 personnel last year, an improvement compared to 890 in 2021 and 875 in 2020. Meanwhile, there was an increase in election violence, with 22 election-related fatalities and an additional 31 political actors killed.

Non-state actors suffered heavy casualties as well, with 2,020 Boko Haram/ISWAP members and 2,483 other armed criminals reported killed.

However, a recent ranking conducted by the Constellis (2017) revealed that Nigeria now ranks 2nd on the top 10 kidnap for ransom risk countries in the world.

This kidnapping still goes on, but if necessary measures are taken, it will reduce the rate or at most completely eliminate the occurrence.

So, the first way to avoid and reduce terrorism in Nigeria is eradication of poverty.

Government should empower people, provide job opportunities, add more values to agricultural sector, labour should be paid a reasonable renumeration, good education should be provided for the people and significant subjects which will give more knowledge to students' patriotism, educate them about disadvantage of terrorism and what may cause to them. Public enlightenment about values, using media to make people aware of great behaviors and attitudes.

More so, Government should make a law which will make people to stay away from terrorism and punishment should be made known to the people.

Finally, government should try all the possible best to eradicate corruption in the country and punish anybody engage in it.

This I believe it would help us eradicate terrorism in Nigeria
