Interplatoon Sports Competition Comes to a Celebratory Close
The 2022 Batch A Stream II inter-platoon football, volleyball and athletics competition have come to an eventful end after the finals were played on Thursday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
In Football, Platoon 9 defeated platoon 8 with a single goal from the team’s captain, Adedoyin Adekunle, putting them in the top spot of the league and winning them the cup. This pushed platoons 8 and 1 into the second and third positions in the league.
In Volleyball, platoon 5 girls defeated platoon 1 girls with 2 points to zero. Platoon 5’s victory put them in the first position in the volleyball games, while platoon 1 and platoon 7 took the second and third positions respectively.
Alongside taking his platoon to victory at the league, Adedoyin was also recognised as the best footballer for the 2022 Batch A stream II set of corps members. The volleyball captain for platoon 5, Oladebo Olabisi (LA/22A/3925) was also awarded the best volleyballer for the set.
In athletics, platoon 8 took the lead in the male 100 metres race, while platoon 5 and platoon 3 took second and third positions.
For the female race, platoon 3 took the first position, with platoons 5 and 4 following as second and third position winners respectively.
The camp games finals had in attendance the State Coordinator, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka, the Resident Officer, Mr Tunde Akogun, the Head of Sports Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, as well as the Head of Registration, Mr Lawal Taofik.
