PLATOON SIX EMERGE OVERALL CHAMPION AS SPORTS COMPETITIONS COME TO CLOSE

 

In a thrilling turn of events, platoon six defeated platoon nine on penalties in the finals of the football competition on Thursday .

In the highly contested match that ended with neither team conceding a goal in the two halves, a penalty shootout was needed to break the deadlock with platoon six converting all their sport kicks to emerge champions, while, Platoons nine and ten came second and third positions respectively.

In the volleyball finals competition, platoon six again emerged winners, with platoons four and five claiming second and third positions respectively.

Okwara Angela with State Code OS/21C/3136 from platoon six was awarded the best volleyball player while Adegoke Ayomide Samuel with State Code OS/21C/3766 from platoon six was awarded the best footballer for the batch

The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka, in her speech encouraged all the players and corps members to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork. She told them the interplatoon competition aimed at imbuing healthy competition, friendship that transcends ethnic or religious differences, unity, and spirit of fair play. 

She called on them to understand the concept of winning as all are winners for courageously taking part in the competition.
