PLATOON 7 EMERGE WINNER OF DRILL COMPETITION
The interplatoon drills competition for the 2021 Batch C stream II Orientation Course has finally taken place after several days of intense rehearsals.
The event took place on Friday at the parade ground of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
The Camp Commandant, Captain Olawale Oyekanmi, during his address spoke on the importance of the Drills in building the physical and mental health of corps members and also ensuing team spirit and togetherness amongst them. He expressed how proud he was of each and every corps member for the hard work they showed through the excercise.
He commended the NYSC management for including the drills in the major activities on camp stating that it has gone a long way in instiling discipline, endurance, tenacity and a strong sense of responsibility in corps members who participate actively in it.
The Chief Judge, Lieutenant Abdullahi Ahmed while intimating the audience on the criteria for judgement, admonished all the platoons to stay steadfast and put in their best and remember that in every competition there must be a winner and others.
According to him, the competition will be scored taking cognizance of the turn out of the members, march past in slow and quick terms, words of command, eyes right and eyes front, dressing into line, among other criteria.
The competition saw platoon seven emerge winners with 77points, with platoon 9 and Platoon 1 coming second and third positions respectively .
