The National Youth Service Corps, Osun State has discharged a total of 334 Corps members belonging to the 2020 Batch B Stream 2, having successfully and satisfactorily undergone the one-year mandatory service in the State.
The Passing-Out ceremony, which marked the end of a wonderful transition phase for most of the youths, took place concurrently across the 30 local governments areas and 1 Area Office of the State, on Thursday.
At the Olorunda and Osogbo local government offices of the NYSC in the State, the State Co-ordinator, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka, was physically on ground to appreciate the Almighty for his favour and wish the corps members well in their subsequent endeavours.
Shokpeka appreciated the corps members for their good conduct throughout the service year, culminating in the timely passing-out ceremony they were witnessing, urging them to reminisce on the good values imbibed.
"Like we always tell you, comporting yourself in the best manner possible wherever and howsoever is an hallmark you should always uphold. All of you here have measured up to that standard, which is why you are passing-out. Your colleagues who didn't measure up are undertaking various disciplinary actions and have no one else but themselves to blame ", She said.
She urged the corps members to take cue from the ceremony by bringing the good values imbibed to bear wherever their subsequent endeavours may take them.
In her words," You all have served your fatherland so well within the past one year, but the journey doesn't end here. As Nigerian citizens, it remains a perpetual duty to always contribute your quota to nation building, societal re-orientation, and fostering national unity & cohesion"
An officer of the NDHQ, Mr Ajayi Adeniyi, was also present to monitor the exercise and oversee the distribution of the CNS certificates.
