PLATOONS 5 AND 1 EMERGES CHAMPIONS OF INTERPLATOON SPORTS COMPETITION

It was an evening full of euphoria and elation as the interplatoon sports competition came to an end, following the roll out of interesting and hearthrobbing games.

This event took place at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ede on Thursday.

In her speech at the closing ceremony, the NYSC osun state coordinator, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka said that the coming together of people from different walks of life to engage in sports and cultural competitions contrary to popular belief, actually strengthens the bond of unity. "We may look different physically, and have seemingly different cultural backgrounds, but in a great show of sportsmanship, all those attributes make us one". She added.

She admonished the contingents to keep their heads high irrespective of the final results because they have performed extremely well to have gotten to the final lap.

After the competition, platoons 5, 2 and 6 came out first, second and third positions respectively in football. While platoons, 1, 7 and 4 were first, second and third positions respectively in volleyball.

In Athletics, for females, platoons 1,10 and 6 were first, second and third positions respectively and for males, platoons 7, 9 and 5 were first, second and third positions respectively.
