Favor Alex Emerges Winner Of The Lion Den Competition

 

Nwankwo Favor Alex, a representative of platoon 4, emerged winner of the Accesspreneurship lion's Den competition sponsored by Access Bank Plc for the 2021 Batch A stream 2 Corps members. The competition designed to support and offer mentorship to Corps members with outstanding business plans.


The final round of the competition held on Thursday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.


Prior to this time, three representatives from the ten platoons started the competition but only five were selected as the finalists for the final round, which involved the corps members pitching their business ideas including the risk analysis and profit margins.

The chief judge, Mrs Bukola Femi Ajala while addressing Corps members encouraged the competitors and other Corps members to always put in their best in all their endeavors and have a positive mindset and confidence even as they compete with others.   


After so much scrutiny of the five finalists: Audu Yakubu, Bankole Racheal Opeyemi, Ajayi Ayobami, Nwankwo Favour Alex and Sheriffden Akanji, based on their presentation skills, innovation, project viability, financial budgets, marketing operations and passion for the business, Nwankwo Favour Alex representative of platoon 4 was announced winner of the one million naira access grant, while Ajayi Ayobami from platoon 10 came second, going home with the sum of 700 thousand naira and Sheriffden Akanji from platoon 2 came third, winning the sum of 400 thousand naira.

Earlier, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke appreciated the Sponsors for bringing the competition to Osun camp. According to him, this will encourage the Corps members to take their skill acquisition training seriously knowing fully well that they could gain access to funds for their proposed business or skill. 

He charged the Corps members to always leverage on the various platforms and initiatives of the NYSC to better their lot in life as some of their predecessors who won the competition did.


He concluded his address by congratulating the finalists and wished them well even as the last leg of the competition commenced.
