Engineer Wale Charges Corps Members To Be Committed To Duty
The Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Osun State chapter, Engr. Wale Alonge has encouraged Engineering Corps members to carryout their task of serving the nation effectively and representing the profession well.
He said this during the professional lectures for the 2021 Batch A stream II Engineering Corps members at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation camp Ede, Osun State.
He congratulated the engineering graduates for the successful completion of their programs and enlightened them on the vast opportunities in the profession provided they take necessary steps to be inducted fully into the society of Engineers.
To become members of the association, Mr Wale said graduate engineers need to be under tutelage and be certified for at least four years before they can be regarded as a member of the society of engineers.
He further added that there are cooperate membership associations for students, graduates and professionals as well which only requires one to be registered in the category he belongs in order to become a member.
Going further, he advised graduate engineers to try as much as possible to identify a problem during their service year, and profer solution because that is the essence of Engineers in the society urging them to be good ambassadors of the Society.
In the same vein, Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Dr. Akindele Fatai sensitized Corps medical personnel on the need to deploy their expertise for the betterment of their host communities thus promoting and maintaining good health for all.
He encouraged them to develop an interpersonal relationship with other medical personnel inorder to gain more knowledge as no one is an encyclopedia of knowledge.
Speaking further on life after NYSC, Dr. Akindele urged the medical corps members to diversify in their skills by leveraging on the skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development program. He also advised them to be ready to try hands on new things and as well be problem solvers within their communities.
