WE WILL ENSURE STRICT COMPLIANCE TO THE NEW NORMAL - ADEGOKE
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke has reiterated his commitment to ensuring the success of the scheme's programmes even in the face of the new normal.
Adegoke made this known on Tuesday while briefing members of staff of the scheme during the general meeting at the Secretariat in Osogbo.
He commended staff for discharging their duties responsibly and diligently during the 2020 Batch B stream 1 and 2 orientation program and called on them to put in more efforts in ensuring the scheme records greater success inspite of the new normal.
According to Mr Adegoke, the 2020 Batch B stream 1 and 2 review committee rated the State very high in terms of compliance to the COVID-19 protocols, organization and maintainance of orderliness during activities on camp, maintainance of the serenity and cleanliness of the camp throughout the orientation program inspite of the number of course participants, among others.
"I enjoin you not to rest on your oars as the Director General is doing everything possible to ensure the scheme's programs are not in anyway hampered by the new normal. We must reciprocate his gesture by discharging our duties with utmost sense of responsibility"
Speaking on corps population and the new normal, Adegoke informed staff on the increase in the number of corps members deployed to the State and on the steps taken to ensure strict compliance with the matching order of the Director General on the COVID-19 pandemic and security of course participants.
He made it known to staff that work has commenced on the erection of the watch tower as directed by the Director General and also the rebuilding of the area of the perimeter fence destroyed by rain. He called on all officials including those who had already recieved the first dose of the COVID-19 Vaccine to ensure strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols and security tips spelt out for course participants.
He added that he will be sensitizing Parents and the general public on the need to discourage their wards from embarking on night travelings and frivolous journeys, on Thursday on the Ajuwaya.com program of the scheme anchored by corps members on the State's broadcasting station, OSBC.
He said that the scheme will equally take the sensitization to the transport unions and major motor parks in the State.
Conclusively, he charged officials to maintain a friendly disposition towards the prospective corps members and desist from any act capable of maring the good image of the scheme.
Correspondingly, the Camp Director for the 2021 Batch A stream II orientation course, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli has charged officials to imbibe team spirit as it is the only way to ensure all round success.
She also called on all heads of assignments to show quality leadership by ensuring equitable distribution of responsibilities and assignments among staff working with them for optimum result. She admonished members of staff to work towards ensuring hundred percent participation and attendance during meditation and other activities on camp.
In the same vein, the Assistant Director, Corps Inspection and Monitoring, Mr Jimmy Fatogun charged field officers to ensure they carry out their inspection duties properly in order to ascertain that corps members committed to their care are on ground and doing well in their various places of assignment. He said the quarterly reports on inspection should reflect their honest and thorough inspection and assessment of corps lodges and places of primary assignment.
