NYSC Osun Commences Interplatoon Sports Competition

 

As part of existing tradition to ensure balance in camp activities, NYSC Osun State has kick-started the Interplatoon sports competition for the 2021 Batch A Stream 2 orientation exercise. The sporting activities include: football, volleyball, table tennis and athletics.

The State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke, while speaking at the opening ceremony charged the players to play safe adding that the competition is not a do or die affair but rather a means to developing the spirit of sportsmanship, oneness and physical fitness among all.

Also, the Head of Sports, Alh. Abdulahi Adamu has expressed delight at the start of sports activities which he claimed is essential for the physical and psychological well being of the corps members. He therefore encouraged them to participate fully while ensuring they embibe the spirit of team work and fair play.

The event began with a football match between Platoon 2 and 7 for the males and a volleyball competition between platoon 9 and 3 for the females.

In the football match, Platoon 7 won with a lone goal against platoon 2.
