MR SOTONYE ENLIGHTENS CORPS ON NYSC ALLOWANCES

 

The Head of accounts, Mr Sotonye West has enlightened the 2021 Batch A Stream II Corps Members on the various types of allowances corps members are entitled to during the service year. 


He gave his address at the Multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Ede on Thursday where he established the criterias needed to access the various allowances of the scheme.


According to him, Corps members are entitled to a transport allowance, a local transport allowance and the monthly allowance.

In order to receive the monthly allowance, there will be a mandatory biometric clearance for all Corps members slated for the first ten days of every month up on the issuance of a clearance letter by employers to their corps members who will in turn present same to their respective Local Government Inspector (LGI) for certification and biometric participation.


Again, he called the attention of Corps members to penalties of absconding from their places of primary assignment.

Furthermore, he spoke on the funding of medical bills. He said the State shall fund any medical bill under a thousand naira while bills above a thousand naira would be refunded by the National Headquarters of the scheme upon receipt of an application by the Corps member to be recommended by the State Coordinator. 


In the end, he urged the Corps members to be law abiding, faithful and patient even as they go through the service year.
