SELFLESSNESS AND HUMILITY MUST GUIDE YOUR SERVICE YEAR- ADEGOKE

The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke has called on the 2021 Batch A Stream 1 corps members to see their service year as a year of selfless service dedicated towards improving their country where ever they may be.

He made the call at the low-key swearing- in ceremony of the Batch at the Permanent Orientation Camp Ede, on Monday.

Mr Adegoke charged the corps members to utilize all life skills they have learnt to improve the quality of the environment they will find themselves. 'Humility', he said,  is one of the outstanding virtues that will make them stand out in all they do and and as such never to allow pride nor arrogance to rob them of the beauty of the service year.

“Always be humble and avoid any act of pride or prejudice which could limit your impact in life. Be selfless and humble in the discharge of your duties" he said.

Adegoke further enjoined the members to leverage on the platform of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Program to add value to themselves.

" I urge you to participate actively in the in-camp and post camp training of the SAED program so you can be productive during and after your service year" he added.

Highlighting the importance of the four cardinal programs of the scheme, Mr Adegoke urged all corps members to key into these programs in order to make massive improvements in their lives.

“Some of your predecessors won the President's Honours Award for excellent service and you too can achieve much more if you are willing" said Adegoke.

The state coordinator also reminded the corps members of the need to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 regulations even as the second wave is still ravaging the world. He added that complacency towards adherence to COVID-19 protocols will not  be tolerated.

In concluding, he admonished the over 1000 corps members posted to Osun State and those dislodged from Lagos to always remain true and committed to serving humanity.

The National Pledge and NYSC Oath of Allegiance was administered by the  Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice  Oyebola Adepele Ojo, who was ably represented by Hon. Justice Matthias Olusegun Agboola.
