NOA ENLIGHTENS CORPS MEMEBERS ON CORE VALUES

National Orientation Agency (NOA) has enlightened the 2021 Batch A Stream1 corps members on Nigeria’s core values in a bid to reorient them and ensure they have increased positive participation in nation building and integration.

Speaking at the lecture on Wednesday, the Community Orientation and Mobilization Officer, National Orientation Agency, Osun State, Mrs Riyike Pade-Omishakin told corps members that the agency is responsible for raising awareness among citizens on the benefits of imbiding core values of honesty, hard work, tolerance, patriotism, among others.

Again, she said that it is pertinent that all corps members have right behaviors and values, and are able to sufficiently mobilize citizens to act in ways that promote peace, harmony, and ensure national development even as they serve their father land.

Furthermore, she told corps members that they are agents of change as there is a growing rate of moral decadence among youths and adults alike in Nigeria which has become very alarming and has become a source of worry to all.

“ Our value system has been greatly eroded and we must become examples others will follow” she added.

In addressing the efforts of the Nigerian government in value re- orientation, Mrs Riyike  said the government has established certain agencies as the NYSC, SERVICOM, ICPC which have played a huge role over the years in bringing about the needed transformation in people.

She concluded by saying that if all corps members imbibe core values then Nigeria will become better. ”do the right thing and transform Nigeria” she concluded.
