CHIEF TUNDE ENLIGHTENS PCMs ON THE IMPORTANCE OF RESPECT TO THE YORUBA PEOPLE
The Assistant Director NYSC Southwest Area Office, Chief Tunde Ajauwa Fadairo has enlightened the 2020 Batch B Stream 2 prospective corps members on the importance of respect to Yorubas. This was disclosed while delivering the traditional lecture on the culture and traditions of the Yorubas on Friday.
Chief Fadairo enlightened the prospective corps members further on the history and origin of the Yorubas and how to relate successfully with them through the instrument of respect. According to him, the Yorubas have been in existence for millenniums and will continue to exist as he urges the PCMs to always value the culture and tradition of their host communities.
He concluded by reminding the PCMs that African Tradition has been in existence before the arrival of the Europeans, hence, the need for us to be promoters of our culture and tradition lest they go into extinction. He encouraged the corps members to take pride in speaking our traditional languages and using our locally produced products and our traditional attires rather than that handed down to us by the whites.
