'Only Those Who are Healthy can Obey the Clarion Call' - Dr Salami Advises Prospective Corps Members
Dr Salami of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital has enlightened the 2020 Batch B stream 1B prospective corps members on the importance of being proactive with issues pertaining to their health in order to be fit enough to obey the clarion call.
He stated while speaking on "health seeking behavior" at the Saturday's meditation at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Ede.
Dr Salami charged the prospective corps members to dedicate as much interest and priority to their health as they do to their mobile phones, stressing that only those who are healthy and alive can participate actively in the NYSC programme.
In addition, he charged the prospective corps members to ensure that they adhere to the COVID-19 protocols in order to stay safe and return safely to their family after their service year.
Also speaking at the meditation, the camp director, Mr Felix Ayibiowu told the prospective corps members that NYSC does not allow medically unfit persons to stay in the Camp in order to avoid having casualties.
He therefore advised that nursing mothers, pregnant women and those with life threatening ailments are to leave the camp as the regimented camp life is not conducive for them. He further added that should any of the categories of persons mentioned be found in the camp after been excused to go back home, the person will be dealt with accordingly.
He concluded by reminding the prospective corps members of the camp slogan " COVID-19 Protocols: for you and me to live".
