OBA ABOLARIN ENJOINS CORPS MEMBERS TO CELEBRATE THEIR CULTURAL DIVERSITIES.
One of the prominent royal fathers, the Orangun
of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin has charged the 2020 Batch B stream 1B Corps members to celebrate their cultural diversities regardless of their beliefs and ethnic groups.
He stated this while addressing the corps members during the second traditional lecture at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ede, Osun State, on Wednesday.
According to Oba Abolarin, the best way to promote peace, unity and progress in the Nation is to accept and celebrate our differences.
"Every culture cannot suit our belief and understanding but take the best from each culture and adjust for peaceful coexistence", he said.
Speaking Further, the Oba warned the corps members against dating or befriending married men or women in the state, stressing that this will only bring curses to them because it is a taboo not only in Yoruba culture but in all cultures.
In Addition, he told the corps members to leave positive stories to tell in the future.
"My best experience was during my service year and I appreciate NYSC for that opportunity, I urge you all to leave a positive story to tell in the future",he said.
Subsequently, Oba Abolarin advised the corps members on the need to be security conscious, be at peace with those around them and encouraged them to think Yoruba, act Yoruba, and do Yoruba in order to have a successful service year.
Conclusively, the Oba expressed his gratitude to NYSC management for deeming it fit to be invited to talk to the youths that are leaders of tomorrow and prayed for success in all their undertakings.
