"Respect is the Hallmark of our Culture" Chief Tunde Fadairo Enlightens PCMs
Chief Tunde Fadairo of the Southwest Area Office has told the 2020 Batch B Stream 1A prospective corps members (PCMs) deployed to Osun and those dislodged from Lagos to always wear respect like an armour. He made this statement while delivering the first traditional lecture on the tradition and custom of Yoruba people at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Ede, Osun, today, Friday 134th November.
The Chief, however explained tradition to mean beliefs that have been passed down from generations.
"Yoruba tradition is unique and have a mechanism of control over those it governs" he stated.
Chief Tunde stated further that the Yoruba people are peace loving people and in order to be able to adapt here, you must learn and master the virtue of respect.
He further enjoined the corps members to remain disciplined and patriotic in all their endeavors and remain ambassadors of peace, love and unity among the ethnic groups in Nigeria.
Subsequently, he charged the PCMs to always represent their culture in all spheres of their lives and respect the culture of others for peaceful co-existence.
Conclusively, Chief Tunde reminded the members on the need to abide by the core aim of NYSC which is unifying the Nation and contributing to Nation building through Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme (SAED).
