General Joe Enlightens Corps Members on the Need to Improve Personal Security
General Joe Komolafe (Rtd.) has at a security awareness lecture outlined basic tips on personal security and safety.
He gave the tips at the Saturday security lecture at the 2020 Batch B stream 1A orientation programme at the Permanent orientation camp Ede.
The retired General informed the PCMs on the importance of personal security.
"Be mentally prepared and always think fast!" he said as he admonished them on the importance of keeping a positive image and upholding a culture of self respect.
"The way you carry yourself determines how people will address you" reiterated the General.
Furthermore, the General gave tips on how the members can protect themselves from security threats. He advised that they should always move in groups and abide by the rules of security agencies who mean well for them, he also advised them to always alert their local government inspector about their location and ensure that their accommodation is safe and secure.
During the course of the security awareness session, he urged PCMs to shun all forms of drug abuse and cultism as the consequence of such involvement may be life threatening. He also reminded them of the need to say "No" to negative peer pressure and to always uphold positive values.
Conclusively, retired General Komolafe not only informed PCMs on precautionary measures to take but also gave useful tips on what to do in the face of imminent danger.
