Federal Fire Service Enlightens Corps Members on Fire Control and Management

 

The Federal Fire Service of Nigeria has sensitized the 2020 Batch B stream 1 A corps members on fire control and management at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede Osun State on Friday. 

Deputy Superintendent of Fire(DSF) Basiri Adijat, who spoke during the sensitization told the corps members that fire can be our friend if we manage it properly, but can also be our worst enemy if mismanaged.

She explained the various types of fire and different techniques to apply when any of those type of fire occurs. 

DSF Basiri further enlightened corps members on the steps to be taken in preventing or managing fire outbreaks, which  includes; staying off houses without double exit, use of fire extinguishers, use of smoke detector, calling fire service help lines when there is a fire outbreak and also carrying out a risk assessment prior to packing into a new apartment, amongst others.

The Corps members were introduced to fire fighting equipments and taken through practical steps on how to use the fire fighting equipments and gadgets.

The lecture had in attendance, the State Coordinator, Mr. Ayodele Adegoke; the Camp Director, Mr Jimmy Fatogun, and other camp officials.
