Covid-19: NCDC and OAUTHC Charge Corps Members To Prioritize the Use of Face Masks and Hand Sanitizers
The 2020 Batch B stream 1A Prospective corps members deployed to Osun State and those dislodged from Lagos State have been sensitized on COVID-19 and its Prevention at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Thursday.
Speaking during the sensitisation, Dr Osundiya Olusegun from the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTHC), enlightened the prospective corps members on the benefits accrued in complying with the COVID-19 protocols in line with the NCDC guidelines, stressing that this will be of benefit to them and everyone around them.
He further enjoined them to always educate those around them on the importance of adhering to social distancing, proper wearing of the face masks, hand hygiene and other preventive protocols.
"You are the future of the Nation and you are in best position to enlighten others on the importance of obeying the COVID-19 preventive measures" he Stated.
Subsequently, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Survelliance Officer, Mr Stephen Ohuneni who also spoke during the COVID-19 sensitization enlightened the prospective corps members on the key protocols to adhere to in order to avoid been infected or to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
"Proper hand hygiene, use of facemasks and social distancing are the key protocols to adhere to if you want to stay safe" he added.
