2020 Batch A Corps Members Return to Orientation Camp -Undergo COVID-19 Screening
The 2020 Batch A Osun Corps members have returned to camp to complete their orientation Course which was aborted in March, 2020.
Recall, that the three weeks orientation course for the batch which commenced 10th of March was aborted barely 10 days into the orientation programme due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus in the country.
The Director-General of the NYSC stated that it was mandatory for the corps members to complete the orientation programme as it is the first and pivotal cardinal programme of the scheme which exposes corps members to the ideals of the scheme.
He further stated that the service of the corps members would be incomplete without their completion of the orientation, which according to him, qualifies them for the Certificate of National Service along side the other three cardinal programmes of the scheme, namely: place of primary assignment, community development service and the winding up/passing out.
The Corps members scheduled to report to camp on Saturday, 21st November were duly sensitised and screened for covid-19 before been allowed to register to continue their orientation alongside their Batch B counterparts.
Correspondingly, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke addressed the Corps members before the commencement of their screening for COVID-19. He urged them to endeavor to partake in the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme(SAED) in-camp training, which they missed due to the aborted orientation. He stated further that the SAED programme was among the reasons they were recalled back to camp.
He enjoined them to ensure that they obey the rules and regulations of the camp and to ensure total compliance with the guidelines of the NCDC as their Batch B counterparts have been doing since the camp commenced.
He concluded by calling on them to walk in love and relate well with the Batch B stream 1A corps members.
