OSUN DISCHARGES 1412 CORPS MEMBERS, AWARDS TWO FOR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE



The National Youth Service Corps Osun State has on Thursday commenced the issuance of  Certificate of National Service to the 1412 Batch B stream II corps members in the State.

 The exercise was monitored by the Area Director, Southwest Area Office,  Mr Emmanuel Attah;  the State Coordinator,  Mr Ayodele Adegoke; Assistant Directors and other senior officers of the scheme across the 30 local government areas of the State and Ife East Area office. 

Two corps members, Anaya Patience and Ukadike Ebuka Isaac,  with code numbers OS/19B/4020 and OS/19B/3258 respectively, were awarded. According to the state coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke, the corps members were awarded for going an extra mile to impart their host community despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The corps members, according to Mr Adegoke, put into good use their skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development knowledge in combating the scourge of the coronavirus and hunger in their host communities. 



 Anaya, alongside three other corps members in Boluwaduro local government produced a  jingle on COVID-19 to sensitise the populace and further produced sanitisers and face masks which she distributed to the people in Boluwaduro community, while, Ukadike established a vegetable farm through which he empowered youths in Ife South by training them on vegetable, cucumber, carrot, watermelon and fish farming. 


The Southwest Area Director,  Mr Emmanuel Attah who monitored the low key passing out in Osogbo,  Olorunda, Ede North and South expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance by both officers of the scheme and corps members with the COVID-19 precautionary guidelines.







  
 7 corps members had their service extended while 4 are to repeat service.
