PRODUCTIVITY AMIDST COVID-19 By OYEDEPO MOSES

As the Covid-19 spreads globally, lockdown is being enforced to contain it. This has made many people to work remotely. In effect, several businesses in many industries of the world economy have been experiencing downturn hence less productivity is prevalent.

While all these are true, however, there are still certain industries such as Telecommuting, Social Media among others that are thriving and experiencing a high level of productivity even amidst the pandemic.

So, if an individual, group of persons or an organization wishes to stay productive amidst Covid-19, then it's paramount that such persons are aware of the  industries that are thriving amidst Covid-19.

Below are three of out the few industries:

TELECOMMUTTING: While stock markets have crashed and sent shares of travel and logistics companies like Uber and Lift Plummetting, the valuations of Telecommuting companies like the Zoom app has skyrocketed. In effect, organizations including businesses, government agencies and religious bodies have made use of zoom app to simultaneously keep their employees safe and ensure that their operations do not stop during the pandemic. This is an advantage for business owners and employees to stay connected using the zoom video conferencing app to mull over decisions that impact the organization and for consensus to be reached in a short while.

HEALTHCARE: It is no longer news that there has been a boom for businesses in the healthcare industry and its value chain amidst Covid-19. A number of medical products and services are in high demand, particularly surgical masks, hand sanitizers, disinfectants and supplements, home healthcare and medical supplies, with many healthcare companies struggling to meet demands. Though saving lives is paramount in times like this, that has not stopped healthcare companies from being productive amidst Covid-19. This industry is a good business area of anyone who wants more income and stay productive amidst Covid-19 pandemic.

SOCIAL MEDIA: Social media consumption has experienced increase across the world since the onset of the coronavirus crisis. According to a survey by the London-based market research firm, Kantar, in 30 economies between March 14 and 24, instant messaging giant, WhatsApp, has seen a 40% and social networking platform, Facebook, has witnessed a 37% bump in usage since the crisis began. So, I strongly believe that creating social engagements on using highlighted apps above on either weekly or monthly bases are a very good way of staying productive amidst Covid-19.

In all, apart from businesses Healthcare and industry, the most productive industries where any individual, group and an organization can stay productive amidst Covid-19 are the online-based oriented business. Finally, a key takeaway for any entrepreneur who desires to be productive amidst Covid-19 is the need to be flexible by embracing the digital economy.
