Corps Members Extend Palliatives To Orphanage Homes
Corps members in Ife Central Local Government Area of Osun State have put a smile on children's faces as they donated foodstuffs to Solid Rock Orphanage and Children Home, Ile-Ife, Ife Central Local Government on Thursday.
The corps members were led by the Osun State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps, Mr Adewale Adegoke who was represented by the Zonal Inspector, Mr Alo Emmanuel and Local Government Inspector, Ife Central, Comrade Samuel Ale.
In the address of the Coordinator, he said the scheme symbolized selflessness and dedication to the growth of Nigeria.
"Our corps members have deemed it fit to give back to society and part of our society that people always neglect is the orphanage homes. Our corps members are giving 15 cartons of noodles, four bags of semovita, cartons of vegetable oil among other foodstuffs.
" We promise to continue providing for the need of less privilege in our society and we shall contribute to the best of our ability as a scheme".
Earlier, the director of the orphanage home, Revd Olukemi Ayoola,
said she had been operating the orphanage home for the past 25years.
She said the orphanage home has produced doctors, PhD graduates and many more successful people in the society.
She lamented that since the experience of COVID-19 in Nigeria, no individual or government have given any palliative to the orphanage except NYSC scheme.
She commended the scheme and corps members for coming to their aid in this hard time.
