The Growth of Your Business is Determined by Your Efforts- NDE Informs Corps Members
The Representatives of the National Directorate of Employment, Mr. Oyekanmi Rasaq and Mr Bamidele Gbenga have sensitized the 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 corps members on the importance of efforts geared towards productivity and self employability.
The duo enlightened the Corps Members at the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) lectures at the ongoing orientation course, at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, on Tuesday.
During the lecture, Mr Rasaq encouraged Corps members to imbibe the spirit of entrepreneurship, adding that they should channel their minds towards developing great business ideas for the the growth and development of the Nigeria economy.
He further urged corps members to participate in the in-camp and post-camp trainings of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme. He stressed that the acquisition of necessary certificate in a chosen skill enables them to have easy access to loans in microfinance banks and other financial institutions.
Meanwhile, he enjoined corps members to evaluate their businesses using a Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat (SWOT) analysis. He added that business without visibility studies can not survive the test of time.
Equally, Mr Bamidele took the members through practical analysis of the market, looking at the possibility of building a veritable business from the scratch. He also taught the members the various steps in identifying a market and writing a business proposal.
Bamidele further urged the corps members to think intelligently looking critically at their environment in other to ascertain the needs and problems of their immediate environment and try to proffer solution to the problems.
Using boxes of matches, he practically took the corps members through the process of building a business empire and how to overcome the common challenges faced in business.
