Ministry of Health Sensitizes Corps Members on the Prevention of the Endemic Disease, Tuberculosis.
The Programme Manager, Ministry of Health Osun State, Dr. Deji Gbadamosi has sensitized the 2020 Batch A Stream 1 corps members on the prevention of the endemic disease, tuberculosis.
The Lecture which aimed at eradicating the menace of tuberculosis was held on Tuesday, at the Multipurpose Hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
Speaking at the lecture, Dr Deji stated that tuberculosis is one of the most deadly disease and should be a matter of concern for everyone.
He enlightened the members on the risk factors associated with tuberculosis which includes, getting in contact with the saliva of the infected, overcrowding, amongst others.
He further told the corps members the preventive measures and possible treatment of Tuberculosis which includes; prescribed antibiotics and good hygiene.
He concluded by informing the corps members that confidentiality is the core value of every medical practitioner because it alleviates stigmatization which can worsen the problem of the infected and probably lead to depression and death. He encouraged them not to be secretive about their health status but to seek help in the appropriate quarters.
