Education Beyond Papers by Oliver Nkpoikana

So the big question finally came...
"Mr!  asides your academic qualifications, what else can you offer?"
There I was, humbly seated like a tied ram set to be slaughtered...then I forced out a confused smile and confidently brought out extra certificates as I came prepared for the interview."with your certificates, you can't be denied" my ignorant mind kept assuring me.
But wait...
what if I was wrong?
What if education went  far beyond my papers?
Just what if life's education differs from school's education?
School's education taught us how to use our 'Pen and paper' to acquire success, whereas in the real sense, the height of success can only be attained through our outstanding potentials.
Education entails coming into realization that skill acquisition is inherent in the lives of everyone. It teaches us that self development should be in paripasue with academic qualifications and further exposes us to understand that potentials supersedes academic qualifications.
In today's society, no organization would be willing to employ any labour that's limited to paper qualifications as they need dynamic individuals who ain't limited to what they studied in order to fascilitate multi tasking when need arises.
Literally, education has left it's real meaning 'cause what most students, undergraduates and even graduates perceived to be education isnt it actually.
May we prepare our minds towards answering this question too...
"Asides your academic qualifications what else can you offer?"
If we ain't asked today;we'll  definitely be asked someday!
N/B:It's never late until it's late.
Here's a food for thought 'Ever wondered why graduates end up becoming employees instead of employers of labour?'
Think About This!!
Until you're educated; you've never attained education" - Oliver Nkpoikana.

  1. Well penned.

Let me add that, Education in your words,

" Education entails coming into realization that skill acquisition is inherent in the lives of everyone.... what most students, undergraduates and even graduates perceived to be education isnt it actually."

If you read this book, Think big by what Ben C. His mother told him to go to school so that he can become rich...

I argue with her in that aspect.

That's the limit of the knowledge the world has adopted.

Education is the bringing to light what it takes to dominate your world with your knowledge and eventually be in control of money.

While a student graduate is half baked in Education is, so that Money will control him...

We have Graduate Drivers, conductors... In fact, owning a shop seem more successful than School graduate...

Deeper knowledge of being educated will expose you that even a Shop owner is yet to be free from the control of money...

Finally, educated people control both money and people around them. Until a man have learnt to control people and money or dominate his world with his knowledge, he's yet to get Education.

  2. Well written, brotherly.
I wish our graduates will have time to reflect on this question and probably find an answer to it themselves.
