Illegal Consumption of Drugs Does Not Only Hurt You, It Hurts People Around You- NDLEA sensitizes corps members.
The Head of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on camp, Mr. Lawal Abdullahi has sensitised the 2020 Batch ‘A’ stream 1 corps members on the menace of drugs consumption and abuse.
Mr. Abdullahi stated this on Tuesday during the sensitisation on drug use and abuse at the ongoing 2020 Batch A orientation exercise at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
Abdullahi revealed that intake of drugs like cannabis sativa, alcohol, tramadol, cigarette amongst others, does not give happiness nor improve work capacity but rather leads the consumer to an early grave, “smokers are liable to die young”, he reiterated.
He further advised the corps members to always take drugs based on doctor's prescription after proper consultation and diagnosis has been done to avoid destroying their future and hurting the people around them.
He concluded by encouraging them on the need to be ambassadors, adding that they should take charge of the campaign against drug abuse to safeguard the future of the nation.
