2020 Batch 'A: NYSC screens visitors, participants as scheme swears in 2,300 corps members in Osun
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has sworn in 2,300 corps members for 2020 Batch A' orientation course.
At the gate of the scheme orientation camp, Ede, on Thursday, visitors, and participants were subjected to thorough medical checks before accessing the camp to prevent Coronavirus and other diseases.
In the address of the NYSC State Coordinator, Osun State, Mr. Adewale Adegoke said that a total number of 2300 corps members were deployed to the state comprising 1100 male and 1200 females.
In his word, "At our gate, you will see hands sanitizers to be used by all visitors and prospective corps members and we are using a thermometer for anybody that wants to enter the camp. We started the medical check on Sunday before the orientation course commenced for prospective corps members, officials, and marketers.
"We have written a letter to Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife to come and sensitise us on preventive measures against coronavirus and Lassa fever.
"We have also notified the Ministry of Health, Osun State to come and enlighten officials, corps members, and marketers on camp."
Adegoke charged corps members to be law-abiding throughout their stay on camp and participate in all activities with a sense of responsibility.
Also, the governor of Osun State, Alh. Gboyega Oyetola urged corps members to partner with the state in the social-economic growth of the state.
The governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji assured that the government will ensure the safety of corps members throughout their stay in the state.
